Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

Kick ass heroines rock! When I read, I become the female MC, so I do need her to be strong, independent and not afraid of the unkown. Of course, a nice, steamy romance with a hot mysterious guy always helps! But mostly, I love new and exciting paranormal explanations to such supernaturals. Different ways as for how Vampires came to be, or why angels fell, etc.

What do you think? What do you look for in your YA books?

  1. Thanks for visiting me. I'm following you back!

I also put myself in place of the heroine when I read. So if she's super cool and kickass- all the better!

  3. I like strong heroines, but they can't ever be annoying. There are heroines who don't fit the Alpha category, and I really have problems with them: The author portrays them as strong, but they don't have the ability to fight everything, and apparently not the wit to realize that they need help. Instead they run screaming into battle.. That's just Too Stupid To Live, and not Kick Ass at all. *grin*

    Happy Friday!

  5. Yes! I agree. I become the main character too so I like someone who is strong and independent. You can never go wrong with a hot guy either ;)

  8. I love that answer! I totally agree! I think that more paranormal books should take a classic concept of tale, and then spin it to their own liking. I think that would make better books out there! New follower, by the way, and I can't wait to hear more from you!

  9. I like to imagine myself as the character too, so it is good if they are strong.
Different takes on subjects that are done a lot like Vampires are always good too, I agree with you there, like to see something different.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  10. Strong, resourceful heroines are the best! If they don't rely solely on the hot, mysterious guy, I think I can be bought. ;)

Here's my #FF if you'd like to check it out:

  11. YES! I love reading the new mythologies authors create for the old-time paranormal creatures we all know and love. When it's something entirely unique I can't get enough of it :)
