For the teenagers or the teenager at heart

Hi Everybody!

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read my blog :) If you have read the 'About Me' section, you noticed I am writing my first Young Adult Novel and being so, I sometimes need a little bit of help with... well teenagers. Below is a list of all sorts of questions that i would LOVE for you all to answer, and who knows, maybe if i like what you write i will add a scene just for you!!

Questions:

1) What is school like for you? Are you popular, why? Are you bullied or a bully? Why?

2) What kind of things do you and your friends like to do after school or in your spare time?

3) What is the funniest story you have related to school?

4) If you had a superpower what would it be and why?

5) How are boys now a days?  Does anyone compare to the amazing Edward Cullen?? Probably not, but what has a guy done to impress you? Or what have you done to impress a girl?

I appreciate all the help and make sure if you comment with your name!
Much Love,

Lucy

Another Amazing Beach Day

After the husband worked on the truck from 7 am to 4 pm, we decided to take the kids out to the beach. The weather was amazing and the heat index 107 degrees. Obviosuly, we live in Florida, so that did not last. We made it to the beach with some really dark clouds hovering above us, hubby and I were debating if it would be necessary for us to put up the umbrella since it didnt look like we were going to be there much longer. The kids walked  over to the water and I twitted a picture of the clouds. Just then, it started pouring. It was a torrential! We gathered all of our things and made the run, along with everyone else at the beach, towards the parking lot.
As i twitted another picture of myself, drenched in the comfort of the truck, I saw someone else's post about Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl talking about techniques to write, i press play, the video starts and.. no volume. Weird. I check on the side of my phone and its on max. Hmm, i start playing with it to see if i had clicked a button i wasnt supposed to but nothing. Then this static noise started, obviously, from my phone. In the torrential downpour it must have gotten wet, which i didnt notice as it seemed to be all dry. End of story, we wasted an hour and a half of Diesel gas and a $500 phone down the drain for 2 minutes at the beach.
It never fails in my life, when something great happens something bad will finish my day. We were able to start the truck that had been out of service for five months and now my phone is caput!

Just my luck, right?

XOXO

The joys of frustrating days

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was a wee bit of a frustrating day. Since i still do not have a car, the whole family woke up shy of seven in the morning to take daddy to the Fire Station. I figured, since we were going all the way into town, i might as well use our time and head to the beach - which is an extremely useful tool for wearing out children. We got there about eight thirty and i was most surprised to see there was plenty of people there already! I loaded the kids with sunscreen, set up the umbrella, the cooler and all of their toys for their entertainment (let's try to give mommy at least ten minutes of relaxation.) My son and I threw the ball while my daughter kept going underwater seeking for 'cool' shells. Around i want to say nine fourty, the already existing clouds started to get darker and darker. The lightning on the horizon displayed a wonderful sight for us all to enjoy and the thunder was deafening - my kind of weather, just not when at the beach! I hoped the storm would pass shortly as it is usually the case here in Florida, however, it darkened even more and a curtain of rain appeared just a few miles from us, obviously, headed our way. I kept my hope up until the very last minute, and I mean, I was superwoman getting everything ready for us to bolt towards the truck. I quickly put all the beach toys away (they probably have about ten buckets, fifteen to twenty shovels, trucks for my son, some dolls for my daughter, floaties), closed the beach chair, undid the umbrella and shoved it back into its bag - by then it was already drizzling and the kids, as well as everyone else on the beach, became frantic. I donned everything i just previously mentioned and we all started our trot towards the street which would ultimately lead us to our car. As i carried the beach chair on my left shoulder along with the umbrella that kept hitting me on the leg and the bag of toys on the left hand I also had the beach bag on my right shoulder with the cooler on that hand, i looked like a bag lady. The rain had become steady and the drops seemed larger than usual. Everyone was running by then and it didn't help that my sun glasses kept sliding down my nose as everytime i would try to pick them back up something else would fall. We finally made it to the parking lot and onto the truck. Long story short, less than a block away it was absolutely sunny and no visible signs of rain, so i decided to wait a little bit by the beach (inside the truck) and see if it lightened. Five minutes. Ten minutes. By fifteen I was already done with the beach and headed on our thirty minute drive home. The rest of the day was frustrating as well - our cable/internet company ripped us off therefore we cancelled our service and it is very hard to entertain small kids to the point where they might actually leave you alone for more than ten minutes. For some reason I had my mind set that I wanted to write and I wanted to do it right then, so as I kept being interrupted and the words were failing me completely, I gave up on the day. By seven thirty we were already in bed. Since my husband works 24 hours straight, the kids and I watched Despicable Me in bed and they ended up falling asleep half through the movie. Once they were snoring I reached for my laptop and decided to get some writing down. Instead i kept getting my son's foot and sometimes whole leg onto my keyboard (Please see picture below)

Have you ever had one of those days where you just wanna call it quits and go to bed really early? Comment on your stories if you would like to share :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful day!!

XOXO

Stuck in my head

Hello world,

Last night I had a pretty bad time at trying to sleep, I ha a headache that wouldn't leave me alone and seemed like my sleep Apnea was at it's best. However, all night as I laid awake and watched te lightning works outside, I kept singing over and over and, yeah over again Nickelback's song "if today was your last day", solely the part that says: "Every day is a gift an not a given right." As depressing as that statement is, it is true and sometimes we take evey little thing we have, and even those we wished we didn't.
Does it mean anything to have something stuck in your head for a while, especially when you hadn't even heard the song that day? I'm not sure, but as we are on our way to the beach ( yep, it's 8:05am exactly and 86 degrees already) I am happily still singing it.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Xoxo

B.I.C pains

Hello all!

As a good writer once said, when writing it is all about BIC (Butt in Chair), so much so that I will need a butt donut after this weekend. I have been stuck at home all weekend while the hubby went off to work in the Fire Station, leaving me carless- as mine has broken down. What to do on a rainy weekend? Allow the thunder storm to inspire you and get to work on your unfinished novel. Or at least that is what I did,
Sat on the couch with a nice hot cup of coffee and let the fingers do the rest, however, my butt is not too happy with me today, sore every time i sit down- how sexy of me!

Anyway, next time you hear about BIC, make sure to take breaks in between, your behind will appreciate that.

I am taking my butt to the gym now!
Have a wonderful day.

PS, I finished reading Lynsay Sands "The Reluctant Vampire" Wa wa wee wa! Funny, sexy and all around brilliant! Make sure to pick it up!

XOXO,

Lucy Swing
