#flashfiction Changes pt2 "Chemistry"

Hi Guys!

I know, I know I have been a little MIA lately. Migraines are no fun. I wrote pt1 to "Changes" last friday for #flashfiction and today, at the very last minute I was able to pull pt2 out of my poopie brain. All i can say is, I sure hope I make sense :)

Changes pt.2

Chemistry

I opened my eyes at the faintest movement on my lap. My arms were still clutched around his body. I looked down at his closed eyes and then onto his torn shirt and the dried blood all over him and around us.
Please wake up Riley. Please wake up.” I silently pleaded to him. I knew this could happen. I knew I could lose him and I still allowed him to talk me into it. What had I been thinking? “I wasn’t thinking. It was not me who did this to him. It was the stupid animal instinct that comes with this new life.” As much as I tried to convince myself I could never come to terms with it if I had killed him. “Please wake up baby.” I closed my eyes once again and a red tear flowed down my face and made its way to him.
“Mmm, that’s tasty.” His voice was hoarse but all that crossed my mind was that he had made it. My arms tightened around him, even when I heard him complain that I was hugging him too hard. “Easy, easy Mia. I told you all would be okay.” I stared into his deep purple eyes and he winked at me. The happiness that filled me was almost unbearable and it made me want him. Yes, I want him now.
“I want you too” flowed his voice inside my head. My eyes widened but the thought didn’t go much further. Before I knew it he was tearing my clothes off. His new strength was really doing it for me. He licked the still wet blood from my face and I realized, between moans, that he must be hungry. I would never forget the burning sensation on my throat when I woke up for the first time. The way it consumed me as I scavenged the forest for something to eat.
His hands kept tracing my whole body, I moved my head to the side exposing my neck and silently spoke to him, “Feed. You have to.”
His lips where still on my breast, where his hands ferociously traced their way onto my back, pushing me closer to him. “I want nothing more than you.”
“Now Riley. Feed NOW.” I was surprised at how hard my own voice sounded, but I needed him to focus. If he didn’t feed, and soon, he could turn into ashes and forever vanish. He must have seen the thoughts that crossed my mind because he didn’t fight me anymore. One of his hands cupped the back of my head while the other held my arching back closer. His teeth sunk into my skin and where there was pain the first time someone fed off me and eventually changed me, this time it was the most pleasurable sensation I had experienced.  I felt my blood rush out of my body and onto his, there can’t be anything more intimate than this. I moaned and in return he sunk his teeth even deeper.
In one swift and extremely fast movement he had me pinned with my back against my desk; the coldness of the glass on my body was a welcomed change to the intense heat we were both emanating.

I looked around and shook my head at the sight of all the blood on the hardwood floor. I walked into the tiny closet in my office and pulled out one of those Swifter mops and got to cleaning while Riley picked up the broken glass table off the floor. Tip for new vampire lovers: glass is just not strong enough anymore.
“What are you going to tell them about the desk?” Riley asked as he put the large pieces on a black industrial garbage bag.
“I don’t know.. That my gigantic piece of ass cracked it won’t work, right?” I gave him a look as if seriously considering such excuse. He shook his head and laughed under his breath. I stopped mopping the floor and turned to him. “How are you feeling?” It was the question no one had asked of me when the total stranger decided to change my life, and I didn't want him to feel as I had in the beginning.
“Alright. You?” He kept working on the pieces of glass.
He can be such a guy sometimes. “I mean, with the change, with everything that comes with it.” I started cleaning the little smudge that just wouldn’t come off.
“I have been reading about them.. err, us, for quite some time. It doesn’t really feel like much has changed other than the fact that well, we will need blood instead of food. Everything else stays the same, right? How did it happen with you?” He looked down and closed his eyes. “I hate the fact that I wasn’t there to help you, to stop or to just be there through it all. I am sorry Mia.”
“Ri, it wasn’t your fault.” I didn’t want him to feel that way. I went on to explain how and where it happened. “I had gone with my brother to a pub by his dorm and well, I am older and get tired more easily now. So I decided to tough out the cold night and walk by myself back to his dorm.” He made a face. “I know, it was stupid. I had almost made it there when I saw someone on the entrance to an alley squirming in pain. I don’t know what crossed my head to make me go check on him, but I did. I asked him if he was okay but he just kept squirming until I saw his eyes, by then he had already grabbed me and taken me into the darkest part of the alley. I called for someone to help me, but he kept his hand over my mouth.” I saw the expression on his face transform and I decided those were enough details for now. “I woke up with the burning sensation you must have woken up to and remembered the guy saying if I didn’t feed I would turn into ashes. So I ran into the forest and after a while I found a deer by the creek. I was disgusted with myself for even thinking about it, but I didn’t want to die.”
“You did what you had to do babe.” He closed the distance between us and took me in his arms. The feel of his skin on my made my insides rejoice. Our chemistry was magnified with the new change. My breaths started coming quicker and I could feel his heart start racing. His hand found the back of my neck and pulled my head back, claiming my lips with his. We were soon lost in lust. Again. With great difficulty I pulled away from him.
“We are going to have to rush home; otherwise we will break every glass window and every desk in this place.”

 Love you all!!!!

Changes - #FlashFiction

Hello!

I wrote this little piece on Thursday for #flashfiction. I know it is Saturday, but I wanted to go ahead and post it so next Friday I can post the second part.

Now, I sat down on the computer without an idea of what I was going to write. It flowed out and with the help of @Safireblade I was able to fix it up a little. Hope you all enjoy it and comment below with any criticism. You all know me and I do not get easily offended :)

Here it is:

CHANGES

I was still unable to grasp the fact that it needed to be brought to an end. Now. I stared at him through the tall, thick glass that separated my office from the rest of them. From him. Fortunately, he could not see me. I was used to these walls by now. In the beginning, I would always squirm when I was looking at someone and they would look back. The feeling of being caught staring making me blush.
Riley typed intently on his computer; every so often coming up for air. On a few occasions he stole a look my way smiling. His smile was beautiful, just like the rest of him. He usually kept his dark blonde hair loosely pulled back in a ponytail. Today was no exception. His gray eyes captured me every time I dared look at them. As if they were able to keep a hold on me. Melting my insides until there was nothing else to do, but fall into his arms.
I closed my eyes, letting my arms fall down weightless to my side. A long sigh escaped my slightly parted lips as I made my way back onto my black leather chair. I sat down, allowing my mind to wander through the memories from when I first saw him.

“New guy. Three o’clock. Total hottie.” Tina said under her breath as she walked past my cubicle and sat in her chair, directly across from me.
With no intentions of being discreet I looked to my right. Tom, the manager, was standing in the way and I could not get a clear view of this new ’hottie’. I could tell the guy worked out from the way his shirt hung onto his body. Although a little too tight for my liking, it gave away the toned muscles underneath. Tom went on and on, talking about the rules of the office, most likely. I was starting to get aggravated. He wouldn’t move and I had better things to do than spend my day trying to catch a peek at the new guy. I got up, crept up behind Tom and slowly tapped on his shoulder. He jumped at my touch, just enough for me to notice, before he turned around.
“Ah, Mia. How may I help you?” Tom’s bald head shone extra bright that morning against the fluorescent lights that hung over us. I glanced back. Most of the girls were standing up and looking over their cubicles, waiting as I had been, to catch a look at the hottie.
“Well you see. We heard there’s a new hottie working here and everyone is waiting to see him. You are kind of on the way...” I waited as the unsaid words slowly made their way into his brain. He now looked over my shoulder at the rest of the girls. I could hear muffled giggles coming from behind me.
Tom did move and finally gave way for us all to take the new guy in. A total hottie was an understatement. He was absolutely mind boggling gorgeous.
“Riley, let me introduce you to Mia, who as you can see has no shame. Mia, this is Riley.” He was right. I always speak my mind. Everyone knew me for that. Riley walked over and stretched out his hand towards me. Another thing I was really good at? Play games with men.
I looked at his hand and then back at him, “Nice meeting you kid” I turned on my heels and walked away. I just left him hanging, and most likely, wanting to know more about me. Almost instantly, all my co-workers started IM’ing me about what a bitch I had been to him, but secretly they were all pleased, thinking they would have more of a chance with him. Sure enough, one by one, all the girls took turns introducing themselves, but he just kept looking back at me. Just like I knew he would.

The knocking on the glass door brought me back to reality. I straightened up as Riley walked in. My face lit up every time I saw him. It didn’t matter what was going on in my head or around us. There was an automated mechanism that when I spotted him, even from across the room, I smiled. I blamed him, a few times, for the lines on both sides of my mouth. He filled me with happiness and now, I had to let go of it all.
He walked over to me, slowly picking me up from my seat. His hands slipped around my waist pulling me onto him. I buried my face on his chest. I took a deep breath, inhaling his scent. His warmth radiated off of him and I felt it wrap itself around me. His rough hand found my chin, carefully lifted my face up to look at him, even now, tormented as I was, I smiled at him.
“What’s wrong?” he asked. He waited for my response but none came. “You have been different since you got back. Has something happened?” His eyes dug onto mines, as if he could see through them and find the answer I could not give him. After a brief silence, I found my voice.
“Yes” was all my mouth could say. I closed my eyes and a single tear made its way down my cheek. His thumb caressed the skin under my eye, blocking and erasing the stream of tears that were now making their debut.
“Talk to me Mia, please.” The warmth of his breath was directly on my face. The burning in my stomach started. The smell of him taking crept its way taking over my mind completely. Taking over my new and unexplored instincts. My breath began to come in jagged little gasps. I wouldn’t be able to do it, it was too much. Too sweet. I was still brand new to this and did not know exactly what I would be capable of.
“Go away Riley” my voice sounded flat and distorted. I knew there wasn’t much time, I couldn’t hurt him. I kept my eyes shut to hide the truth from him, but he wouldn’t budge. He pulled me closer and kissed the spot below my ear and I moaned as I opened my eyes. The second he pulled away and looked at me, he finally understood what was wrong. His hold on me loosened and a wave of shock washed over his big gray eyes. He shook his head slightly and turned his gaze from my blazing eyes to my mouth, where it too had changed.
“It’s not possible..” He took a few steps back and I was glad for it. I just wished he would leave, I didn’t want him to see me like this and I couldn’t live with myself if I hurt him.

“Please. Leave.” It wasn’t my voice anymore, I was too gone now. He stared into what I knew were my now purple eyes and closed the gap between us. “What are you doing?” My usual voice asked him in a piercing desperation.
He once again pulled my face up to meet my eyes. “I love you Mia and nothing will ever change that.” He leaned in to kiss me. I shoved him back. Unaware of my new strength, I sent him flying onto the glass wall, luckily, it didn’t shatter. I could feel my whole being burning with the hunger; I knew it wouldn’t be long until it happened.
“I’m sorry” I whispered as he stood up. “But you have to leave. You know what will happen if you don’t Riley and I don’t want to hurt you.” He pulled off his sweater and walked towards me again. This time without holding back his strength he grabbed me by my arms. I closed my eyes and tried to fight through the pain emanating from my body.
“You won’t hurt me. As long as I can be with you, I don’t care what I am.” I opened my eyes and looked at him as he smiled back at me. “Do it.” His voice was so inviting. He cocked his head to the side and the animal inside finally overcame me.

Random Thoughts part Deux

Hi Guys!!!
How has everyone been? I have been busy- not sure exactly doing what, but been keeping busy. I need to get back into my routine of writing daily, which I haven’t done in a good week or so. Eeek!
Here are my random topics:

1.       Book Skimming

I often find myself reading incredibly interesting books that have completely captured my attention, but I still skim through all the details. I go straight for the conversation, or just skip the paragraph itself. Does it happen to you? Even with my favorite books I do it. It is no wonder I am quite bad at details for my own MS, I just can’t find the need for people to go into extreme detail over stupid things. Like the mold between tiles in the bathroom or things like that. I am very to the point; I will describe surroundings so one gets an idea of the place but not into critical detail.

2.       Blogspot/ Blogger

Anyone that uses Blogspot needs to get with me ASAP. I am crippled when it comes to making my blog prettier and stuff.
3.       Motorcycle Stunts

Ever see those idiots on the highway doing stunts with their motorcycles while going 80mph and cars, trucks, semi’s all around? I hate them. Don’t they understand the risks that they are subjecting themselves to AND everyone else around them? Imagine they lose control, fall and you run them over and then they blame YOU for it, because I am sure there won’t be any proof of the stupidity of his actions.. It mind boggles me that these people have no brain cells. I don’t know about you, but I want to live a full life, not be gone in my early twenties because I thought I was a dare devil. Enough rambling.

4.       Current Reads

I was at Barnes & Noble last Sunday, like every other week and got two new books. “The Hollow” by Jessica Verday and “Dracula” by the one and only, Bam Stoker. Buying Dracula was more of a getting a Classic into my collection than anything, as I have already read it.

Last night while reading “The Hollow” I was surprised to find I do some things that her MC does as well. It was funny to see your actions on a book though, as if what you do is all fiction. But also calming, knowing that someone else might have done it too at some point in their lives. Have you ever read something and felt like they were talking about you?

Also, what are you currently reading? Please share as I am always looking for a new book!

5.       Reviews and Interviews

This is for my fellow writers. I am available to read, review and help with anything you may need help with. Please feel free to contact me any time over here or on Twitter, I absolutely love giving feedback and helping make the story grow! So get at me!!

Ok, enough ranting for today. I hope everyone has a blessed day and keep on #writing!

XOXO

9/11/2001 - Never Forget

Now, I understand everyone and their mother will be posting a blog about 9/11/01 today, but I couldn’t help to share my own.

I was a senior in high school when it happened. We all rushed out of first period (Algebra) unkowingly and found that all the other classrooms had their T.V’s on. I walked in to History class and saw what was playing in the little box bolted to the ceiling. It was heart-rending. Like everyone else, at first, when the first airplane went through the building we thought it was an accident, but when we (the world) saw the second one do the same in live T.V, then the world did stop spinning.

It was a tragedy that was known to be coming and still was not prevented. I am not here to blame anyone but instead, remember such tragedy with pictures and a video of that day. As the wife of a Fire Fighter I want to remind everyone to please remember those courageous ones, like Mike Kehoe below, who while everyone was running out of the burning towers he willingly went up to save others. Luckily, Kehoe made it out safely, but six men from his tower never made it out at all.

Let’s all remember, not just today but every day. Of those we have lost, those who live tormented by it and those who did this to us.

God bless us all!

"Jimmy" Short Story Review/ Interview

Hello World.

I finally have some free time. It has been a crazy week and it is shaping up to be a busy weekend as well. Before I have zero time, I wanted to post this funny as heck Interview I did with Edward Owen. Please read below for the review of his short story "Jimmy" and the interview below it.

The Short Story “Jimmy” by Edward Owen is set in the late 2070’s. “The desire to stay young and beautiful had pushed medical science to keep up with the demand. When plastic surgery was no longer enough, bio and genetic engineering had stepped in to fill the need.” Here is where Jimmy comes in, a human hired to exterminate Beverly Hills of all these mutated zombies. Little does Jimmy know that the creatures running through the sewers and old abandoned buildings may not be what they seem. Edward has written a great story that captures the reader’s attention at once. Jimmy has a great inner monologue that keeps you laughing and wanting more. It has action and a very unexpected ending, so if you are into futuristic and sometimes gory stories, then this is the one for you. You can read it at http://storiesbyedwardowen.com/shortstories.aspx

INTERVIEW

Hi Edward! (@storiesbyedward) Glad you could come chat with me shortly. Why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I'm still working a day job, so I'm a writer, not an author (authors get paid, writers struggle). I started writing when I was a kid, probably because my mom read to me all the time. I had an imaginary friend when I was a kid (we're having coffee together this weekend!) so there was a lot going on in my brain, all the time. I probably got the writing bug in college. I had to write some fiction pieces for one of my English classes. One assignment was the chapter of a novel. I ended up with about four or five chapters. I still have the notes and may go back to finish it eventually. Two years ago I finished a 150K word horror novel and decided to make a serious effort at getting published. As you can imagine, well, did I tell you I'm still working a day job? I keep learning and writing and editing.

I have three or four projects going all the time (ADD strikes again) but I am making some progress. My wife and I live with our three sons in Southern California and I work in Los Angeles. I have a very offbeat sense of humor and literally no filter between my brain and my mouth (fingers). I constantly tell people to read the warning label. If I offend someone, I just give them a coupon for a 10% discount on their own sense of humor. I figure it's the least I can do.

2. What got you into writing?

I have always loved to read and I think that transferred over to writing. I would go to the library and check out four or five paperbacks and have them all read before they were due. I read a lot of science fiction and horror. Sort of explains a lot, doesn't it?

3. What is your favorite genre to write?

Horror is definitely my favorite. It is a great escape and allows me to take out any frustrations from the day on my characters. I'm not talking Edgar Allen Poe "Telltale Heart", I'm talking Stephen King with a migraine, on hold with the phone company (No, I'm not that good, yet, but you have to have goals). Really graphic, really scary and really sexual. The kind of stuff that makes you want to rinse your eyeballs with bleach. My current WIP is YA sci-fi, my second great love. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, J.R.R. Tolkein, Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clark and Isaac Asimov (pure genius, that one).

4. Have you had anything published and if not, are you trying to get published at the moment?

I have two eBooks on Amazon Kindle. One is a sort of analytical/philosophical discussion about wisdom and intelligence and the other is a book of inspirational sayings that I wrote myself. Very off genre for me, but they each served a purpose. I will be doing the indie pub thing this fall. I have two novels that will be the start of two different series. That's just how my brain works, all over the place, all the time.

5. What else, other than stalk me on Twitter, do you do during the day? Do you have a routine?

I am up at 2:30 am during the week as I start work at 5:30 and have an hour commute. If I get moving early, I try to write or catch up on email, Twitter, etc. before I leave. I write on my lunch break and in the evenings, if I have time. Most of my writing is done early in the morning on weekends when the house is quiet. I can knock out 5-6k words between Saturday and Sunday(if I stay off Twitter, yes I'm addicted and there is no 12 step program to help me.)

My youngest son is a senior in high school, so much of my evening time is spent helping him with homework. He has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. He needs help with writing, so I just type his homework. He is an awesome kid and designs all my book covers. Next year he will be attending a design school to become a professional graphic artist.

On Saturday afternoon I attend a writers' critique group. This has, without a doubt, been the best thing I have done to improve my writing. We give each other honest and constructive criticism about our work. Everyone is very nice and no one gets their feelings hurt (mine are bullet proof anyway).

6. What kind of advice would you share with someone just starting in the writing business?

Find a good day job that pays the bills and doesn't require too much of your brain power. Then, write in your spare time, join a writing group, take classes and READ A LOT! If you didn't read as a kid, you have a lot of catching up to do. Writing is a learned skill, like anything else. The creative part is more difficult to learn, just like sports or anything else, some people are born with a certain talent. If you don't have that part, the struggle will be greater. It doesn't mean you can't write, but maybe fiction won't be your niche. Write about what you know. If you grow flowers, write a blog about flower gardening. I think about the horrible things that I would like to happen to people who annoy me, so I write horror. (Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me to write about you when I'm angry.)

7. Let us know where we can find your work, so we can stalk you as well.

First, I have two books on Amazon Kindle: The Pocket Philosopher (inspirational quotes) and Tomatoes in the Fruit Salad (wisdom, knowledge and how to tell the difference). I have some short stories and excerpts on my website, www.storiesbyedwardowen.com and several articles on Helium.com. The piece, "Adventures in Home Improvement: The Kitchen" has been rated #1 for four years in a row. I wrote a serialized short story called "The Game" (about poker) It is on www.edwardowen.wordpress.com. You have to look for it in the archives. The blog title is Nightmares and Body Parts... yes because I write horror, but my last entry was about my 3 boys, "Please Don't Feed the Bears". I told you, I have ADD...SQUIRREL! now what was I talking about?

Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did!
Thank you Edward for stopping by and for ALWAYS making me laugh! You are the best :)

Stuck - Short Story Review / Interview

Happy Weekend everyone!

How is your Saturday going so far? I have some family from Argentina over for just the day, so we have been running around for lunch and other fun endeavors. Now, the men find themselves like every Argentine, watching soccer.
A week ago I was asked by my good Twitter friend Lissette (@xLizzieBethx) to review her new forthcoming short story, STUCK. Find my review here and an interview below it:

““Stuck” by Lissette E. Manning captured me from the very beginning; spiraling me into her post-apocalyptic world. In this heart wrenching short story, we follow Annie as she leaves the safety of her home in search of means to provide for her family. As a mother myself, I felt the utter pain Annie went through leaving her children behind and the need to go out into the unknowing to ease her family’s hunger.
A few tears were shed, I will not lie. Prepare to become one with the main character as she takes you for a ride you will not soon forget. A must read!”

INTERVIEW:

1. Hi Lissette! Thank you very much for taking the time to talk to me. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Welcome, Lucy. It's a pleasure. It really is.
My real name is Nancy Medina and I write under the penname of Lissette E. Manning. I live in Waterbury, CT and have a long-haired domestic cat named Mikey who likes to bite people's ankles whenever he has the chance to. I also enjoy reading a lot, listening to music, and playing video games whenever I have the time to.

2. How did you get into writing and how long have you been doing it?

I've been writing since I was six-years-old. Would write on whatever I could find - napkins, candy wrappers, copy paper, you name it and I quite possibly would jot down whatever train of thought would grasp me at that current moment. Mind you, Mom never understood my thirst for writing and she'd throw out my stories whenever she'd find them.

3. Do you write your stories with a pre-organized plot?

Occasionally, I do, yes.
More often than not, though, I just let my muse guide me in whatever he decides to give me to write. He's an impatient little bugger and enjoys bestowing me with ideas at the most inopportune moment.

4. What was the first thing you ever wrote and how did it feel to finally finish it?

That's a tough one, since the first thing I actually wrote didn't really make sense when I was a kid. I know that I finished it, though.
First actual story that I've finished and got out there was Closure. Took me about a year to actually get it right. I remember sitting here, after receiving all the suggestions from the beta-readers/editors came in and revising the manuscript so many times. When I finally got the final version that is now on the market, it felt great and so accomplished.

5. How many stories, books, novels did you write? Anything published that we might have seen?

I'm writing constantly. I've about six different projects in the works, at the moment. Actually, make that seven, as I recently revived a story that I abandoned years ago after someone told me that it wouldn't be worth continuing if I wasn't going to use French language/mannerisms in the books.
I currently have two short stories published with a third one coming onto the market within the next few days.
The first one is called Closure, which is a romance drama that centers around a man who's left to deal with heartache after his wife walks out on him.
The second one is titled Compromise of the Soul and is a paranormal romance. This one is an introduction/prequel to a novel that I'm working on titled Haunted. It centers around vampires and immortals.

6. Do you ever suffer from ‘writer’s block’? If so, how did you get around it?

Yes, I do on occasion. To get around it, I set aside whatever I'm trying to write and work on writing something that is not related to the subject at hand. If that doesn't work, I'll sit down and read for a while to the creative juices start flowing again.

7. What made you write “Struck”?

I started writing this short story during a writing course that I was taking online taught by Jeremy C. Shipp. I'd been trying to work on an assignment and I'd had a bit of a writer's block. I remember watching a moment, not exactly sure what it was, but it cut to some commercials and I saw something with a broken road and some fire on the screen. My muse 'woke up' so to speak and next thing I know, I started writing this story.
Mind you, the original version is nothing like the finished story that you've now read. It took me quite a few tries, and countless revisions, until I was able to make it into what you see now. I also had great suggestions from my beta-readers - they know who they are, who were patient with me throughout all of the edits and revisions.

8. When I read the story I had a million different emotions running wild and I even cried. What were your feelings through it all?

As I was writing this, I felt an injustice at the pain and sorrow that she and her family have had to go through in trying to survive. When I wrote the part of the child, I actually envisioned that and felt like crying.
Although this story is a work of fiction, it's a story about survival amidst overcoming the odds that are stacked against Annie because of the circumstances, and the choices, that are not quite of her making. Well, to some extent, anyway. As what happens near the end was in fact because of her own folly. I think everyone can relate to her and her current plight.

9. Where can we find your Published stories?

Closure and Compromise of the Soul can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.
Closure is also available as a printed edition.

10. Are you working on something new already?

Yes, indeed, I am. Quite a few projects, actually.
I recently pulled a novel titled One For All, And All For One out of the closet, so to speak, which centers around Louis XIV.
I also have a paranornal romance novel in the works called Haunted. Vampires and Immortals play a vital role in it. Compromise of the Soul is an introduction/prequel to this novel.
There's also a science-fiction series in the works called Tales of Velosia. The first book in this series is called The Prophecy which centers around a prophecy set in motion by the Gods in regards to a messiah who must save their world. The second book is titled Tyale and takes up from where The Prophecy ends. There's also an untitled story that I'm also working that is not exactly a part of the series, but it does center around this world that I've created. One of the characters, Marius Pendragon, is the one who tells this story.

Last but not least, I'm also working on a Young Adult novel titled Careless which tells the story of a group of girls on spring break and an accident that ensues because of their actions during one of their outings. This one, though, is on the back burner for a bit, since my muse is eager to see One For All, And All For One and Haunted finished soon.

11. What was the best piece of advice you've received in regard to your writing career?

To just write what you know. Although, I tend to get ideas for things that I literally know nothing about, but I blame my muse for that. He likes to mess with my head. A lot. I should name him, some day. But then he'd probably get way too full of himself, so his being known as just my muse is fine for now, I think.

12. Okay, to finish this off- tell us ten random things about yourself.

Hmmm . . . let me see.
* I procrastinate a lot.

Forest Ghoul

Hi Friends!

How has your September started? I see on Twitter many of you talking about sweaters and warmer clothes and I wished I lived where you do. Here in Florida it is scorching hot.

Lets get down to the nitty gritty.. I was looking for some pictures on Google and came across a quite disturbing one. If It does not make your skin crawl, I am not sure what will.
We have all been there seen than when it comes to creepy pictures surfacing on the internet, most of the time: a Hoax. I started searching for this “Forest Ghoul” you see below. Eerie, right?

I found a website that says a hunter snap this picture. The creature had been on the ground and then got on all fours. Said hunter got so scared that supposedly broke the camera, but obviously retrieved the unscathed memory card. I don’t know about you, but if I see this in the middle of the night I would throw everything in the air and RUN.

Some other sites have also said this might have been a snap shot from the movie “Super 8”. I googled that too and came empty handed. They have been, ever since they started filming it, mum about its plot and even now, I still could not find a picture of the ‘creature’. Although, the ones I did find, had tentacles unlike the Forest Ghoul.

On a different site they said it was from a Video Game promo for Resistance 3. Below is the trailer for said game and I am still not convinced. I may have an extremely talented imagination, but I still fail to believe things like this may be real…

So here lays the question: What do YOU think?
