It wasn't the box itself that made my eyes bulge out but the little paper describing what I was looking at:
"Vampire Kill Kit"
I kid you not!
When I asked about it I was told it was made in the 1800's for people who had to travel through Trannsylvania. Depending on their wealth, the Kit they got.
It contains:
* A pistol with its accoutrements,
* Silver Bullets,
* Crucifix,
* Powdered flowers of garlic,
* A wooden stake,
* Professor Bloomberg's new serum.
And some other assorted items.
At first I laughed.
Then I began thinking of the actual person that got this made. That traveled through what they believed was infested with Vampires (Warewolves as well, as they had silver bullets) and clutched to this kit fearing the need to use it.
As useless as it may be for us now, to know someone actually truly believed such thing.. well, it amazes me.
Obviously, it was priced at the ridiculously high price of $5,000.00- I will admit though, if I had the money... I would probably get it.
Here are a few pics:
** I cannot attest to its authenticity**
OMG. That is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. I must own it one day! But you're right, $5000 is a bit dear. lol
ReplyDeleteI love your new blog design, by the way, getting good use out of your new Photoshop? :)
Umm yeah I totes want one of those *runs to see if I can find 5G's in my couch* LOL
ReplyDeleteOkay, that is simply too cool... I'm afraid even if I had five grand, I wouldn't buy it, though. I doubt the serum still works, and that would knock down the price for me. Condition matters.
ReplyDeleteThat is cool! Perhaps if we can just get enough bloggers to pitch in we could just share it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
